Ideas into energy is pleased to announce that research from its EUKI project on carbon pricing has been cited in a significant new report by Legambiente and the Kyoto Club on designing the EU ETS 2 system in Italy. The report, titled “La Normativa EU ETS 2 e le sue Conseguenze Attese in Italia”, references both the novel methodology and findings from ideas into energy’s collaborative work examining the distributional impacts of carbon pricing in Central and Eastern Europe.
The project “Distributing the Impacts of Carbon Pricing in CEE” developed a comprehensive methodology for analyzing how carbon costs affect economically vulnerable groups across Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. Working alongside partners Energy Policy Group (EPG), Center for the Study of Democracy (Bulgaria), Habitat for Humanity International Hungary, and the Institute for Structural Research (Poland), the project examined price responses, consumer behavior adjustments, and labor market impacts in carbon-intensive sectors.
This recognition underscores the ongoing value of collaborative, evidence-based approaches to climate policy design and highlights how ideas into energy’s research continues to inform policy discussions on socially just carbon pricing mechanisms across Europe
