ENABLING PV supported the development of photovoltaic markets in Central Asia and the South Caucasus by combining market intelligence, stakeholder dialogue and the preparation of concrete cooperation projects since 2022.
In 2024/2025, ideas into energy and eclareon continued the regional ENABLING PV activities with a new market study for Armenia, roundtable meetings in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, and the first ENABLING PV Forum for South Caucasus and Central Asia in Tbilisi. The activities brought together solar companies, associations, public institutions, educational organisations and experts from the partner countries and Germany.
The market studies provided practical information on investment conditions, regulatory frameworks and economically promising PV applications.
The roundtables and the Tbilisi Forum created a platform for discussing market barriers, business opportunities, capacity needs and cooperation ideas. Building on these exchanges, ENABLING PV supported the development of pilot and spin-off projects, including vocational solar training programmes and demonstration-oriented applications that strengthen local know-how for the design, installation and operation of PV systems.
