Administrative framework for RE plants in Germany (RE-Admin)

Despite lower generation costs, the expansion of wind energy in Germany and the countries of the European Union has not achieved the targets set in recent years. Administrative obstacles such as complicated administrative processes and conflicts with other public goods (such as environmental protection and aviation safety) as well as disputes with other interest groups are the main reasons for this. With funding from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), ideas into energy, together with the Öko-Institut e.V. Institute for Applied Ecology, is therefore investigating the interactions between administrative barriers and the weak expansion of plants for the production of electricity from renewable energies on the basis of the licensing practice for plants for electricity generation from renewable energies, in particular wind power, in some selected countries of the European Union, in order to identify possible solutions for overcoming the barriers and to make these available to the BMWK and the interested specialist public.
