The educational project “Solar Schools,” focusing on countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus, introduces young people in schools to the significance and potential of renewable energies for a sustainable shared future. The main focus is on solar energy. Schools that are part of the network are equipped with solar systems on their rooftops, solar kits for experimental group work, and didactic teaching films for use in physics and German lessons.
On various social media channels dedicated to the project, students also have access to additional educational platforms that enrich classroom teaching and make a valuable contribution to sustainability education.
The implementation of the project’s activities is made possible through financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office. The project was initiated by ideas into energy. Partners include the initiative “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) of the Goethe-Institut and the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). Additional supporters include the Berlin-based consulting firm eclareon, the German Solar Association (BSW-Solar) and several of its member companies, as well as regional non-governmental organizations in the target countries, such as the Eurosolar sections in Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
New supporters are always welcome! For more information, visit the website: https://solar-schools.org/
